LARRANCE ⁄ MANNON ⁄ MYERS ⁄ DREW ⁄ SWAFFORD
Several Larrance family members are buried in New Boston cemetery in Mercer Co. IL. From what I have been able to piece together, it appears that there were maybe 3 siblings there:
Noah LARRANCE - m. Amanda Alice MANNON 1864
Americus Vespuci LARRANCE - m. Rebecca Irene DREW 1863
Louisa B. LARRANCE - m. Wm. P. MYERS (MEYERS)

These 3 appear to have been children of Jonathan LARRANCE who married Elizabeth SWAFFORD 1830 in Henry Co. IN. Jonathan, I've been told, died 1845 in IN, and Elizabeth died 1846. Their children would still have been young, so someone must have brought them to Mercer Co.
Any info on this family appreciated!

CAIN ⁄ COOPER ⁄ FRINES ⁄ GRIDLEY ⁄ MCKAY ⁄ MICKLE ⁄ NICHOLS ⁄ O'DELL ⁄ SMITH ⁄ SROSTON ⁄ STEVENS
I am looking for the ancestors of Sarah COOPER, born Mar 10 1862. She married William Cain and they had Herman, Clark Lee, Lester, Dora, Esther, Emily, Mary E or Elsa, Josephine, and Charles William. This family appears in the 1870 Census for Perryton Twp, Mercer Cnty. Most of the family is buried in the Hamlet Cemetery. There is a book The Cooper Family, Vol 1 and Vol 2, which details this Mercer Co. pioneer family. The book is not available by interlibrary loan as it does not circulate so I have not been able to see the book. If someone could review the book for me and let me know, a: could I photo copy all of it reasonably? b:which pages give a desendent chart that I could have copied? c: is it worth copying?
The following is known about Sarah and William's children: Elsa married FRINES. Dora married MICKLE.
Emily married Joseph O'DELL. Josephine married SPROSTON. Esther married STEVENS. Lester married Alice B. COOPER Jan 20, 1904, her parents are Lester Hamlet COOPER and Mary Jane NICHOLS. Herman married Sally A. GRIDLEY Dec 21, 1904, her siblings are Mrs. Walter MCKAY, Mrs. Zona SMITH, and Louis L, O.R. and E.L. GRIDLEY. Charles William married Mary GRIDLEY Jan 8, 1902.

VERDERBER ⁄ SONETZ
John Verderber and Elizabeth Sonetz were married when they came to Cable IL. They had four children from this marriage.
John was a coal miner. Around 1881, I have been told that Elizabeth and two of her children died from an epidemic in Cable, Mercer County. Supposedly, the three were buried along with others in a mass grave in Cable Cemetery. How can I find out more information? Have visited the county clerk's office in Aledo. There are no records on deaths there. There are no stones with their names in the Cable Cemetery. Could not find a census record for 1880 when I visited the Aledo library this week. Was there a city directory which they might have been listed in? Am looking for suggestions. John Verderber married Maria Schimetz in 1882 and along with his two children from his previous marriage, raised a family in Cable before moving to Logan County. Have contacted St. Catherine's this week and am waiting on a response to my letter. John and Maria were married in Rock Island but there is no record of a previous marriage there or any deaths recorded for his previous family. Is there anyone who could help me, please? Thanks!  Carolyn S. Cecil

He was married twice and as a result had six children, the last being my mother, Gladys HARKEY from his second marriage. He had two sisters, one was Dora, the other I only know as Mrs. John Christopher. He had three daughters, Mrs. Katherine WHARTON, Mary BRASHEAR, and Gladys CRAY. He married Roselie WATSON in Davenport, Iowa in 1910 and then they moved to Iowa City, Iowa where they are buried in St. Josephs Cemetary.
